In the framework of the MOMA project, during the time from 23/10/2020 to 18/12/2020, Dr. Esteban Mejía, University of Rostock, Germany delivered the online course Catalysis for master students majoring in Theoretical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry at Quy Nhon University (QNU). The course is designed to provide students with theoretical background and cutting-edge science and technology for practical applications. The course includes seven online lectures following by the presentations of the six student groups. Interested in the course contents, along with master students, PhD students, last-year bachelor students and academic staff members have attended the course. Two staff members of QNU, Assoc. Prof. NGUYEN Phi Hung and Dr. NGUYEN Van Thang, who are in charge of building up this new course, guided the students to help them understand deeply the online lectures. Wide-ranging topics in catalysis have been introduced to the six groups of students at the beginning of the course and then each group has been assigned one specific topic in the form of oral group presentation. Throughout the course, students have opportunities to work in groups and intensively discuss with the lecturers to master the topics. Particularly, they have learnt step by step how to effectively investigate, organize and present a research topic in catalysis. As a result, they presented the assigned topics attractively with the presence of all course attendants in the two last online sessions of the course. In general, under the devoted guidance of Dr. Esteban Mejía and QNU academic staff, with the enthusiastic participation of the students and Vietnamese staff members, the course has effectively completed.
